Awesome place. I never knew this existed my parents took my wife there along with our two dogs. Great little trail. Love the tree identification posts. Such diverse species in the Smokies. A really cool cave about halfway. Looks like it goes in two directions. I wonder if it connects with Tuckaleechee Caverns not far away. Would have loved to explore deeper, but did not have the time. Can't wait to see this trail in the spring! Townsend continues to amaze!

Nice paced trail, runs along river with multiple entrance points. Covered bridge along the way. Beautiful and peaceful. Take your bicycle, walk, lawn chair or inner tube. Pack a lunch, picnic tables. ️️️
Loved finding this covered bridge where the river walk begins on south bank, just a bit west of Townsend. The water is crystal clear, you can watch the trout just swimming around. Felt sorry for the old timer trying to fly fish -- he said too many visitors in the area. Sunshine, exercise, and a bit of history is always a winner for me!
A lovely wooded trail next to the river in Townsend. A small garden, plants, identified, and several seating benches. A nice place to walk your dog.
