The monastery and grounds are a rare treasure just minutes away from the hustle-bustle of suburban life. Moments I have spent here are always cleansing, enlightening, enriching, and full of beauty. The monks are some of the most wonderful people you will every meet. A unique library contains hundreds of rare and out of print spiritual and intellectual works by the great minds of the world. There is a lovely koi pond and profoundly beautiful old growth forest to enjoy. What I love most is the silence and tranquility that you feel instantly, as soon as you get out of your car. Expect to be greeted by 2 awesome dogs.

One of my favorite place to visit in Southern California few times a year. Very peaceful monastery located on the hills surrounded with many trees and plants. You may enjoy walking along the path with symbols of World religions, and find a place where you heart feels home... Small temple is great especially if you looking for inner peace... I am also like the gift shop with many unique merchandise, and especially I am recommending local honey.

So peaceful. Wonderful place to enjoy nature, and ground yourself in whatever way you choose. The shrine room is an awesome place to mediate. The gift shop has really cool things, as well as honey products they make there. There are a lot of bees around (they never bother anyone but if your allergic be careful) because of their bee sanctuary. The honey is delicious.

A peaceful and beautiful place tucked away in the mountains. Has a wonderful bookstore and a great wilderness hike that highlights the great faiths. Occasional programs for spiritual enrichment. When I visited there was an (unapproved) filming session do be prepared for sone people not appreciating the sacredness of the grounds. Which can be true of any public place.

I love walking through the trail here to see all the relics of each religion. I enjoy meditating at the tree with a deck around it.

I'm always looking for raw local honey. I found the closest local honey right here! And bee pollen as well. We need to go back when we have more time and walk the trails here.
