Travel town is still Travel Town I'm not sure if you could ride the train now but you can enjoy walking and looking at some of these unusual but nice trains

This train museum located in Griffith Park in Los Angeles is a non-profit museum and runs by donations only. So if you or your kids love trains check this place out. It is small so you will cover it relatively fast but cool old school trains with history behind them. They a have gift/souvenir store which sell snacks and drinks, restroom are available, and parties for kids are available which I would recommend visiting their website for more details and availability. You could ride a small train which laps the whole entire museum twice for no more than 4. If your planning to visit I recommend making it a picnic type of visit, they a couple grassy areas or tables you could use to enjoy your day there. Keep in mind it's part of Griffith Park somehow.

Tons of fun, really cool trains to climb on and check out. Great place for kids, and picnics!

Nice little place to take little kids and plan parties. Your able to rent out a train car and shelters for parties and events. The place has many historical facts about the train and the trains themselves are really enjoyable to see. You can ride the little train they have there for , I believe, 3 for adults and a little bit less for children. If your child loves trains, like mines does, then you should definitely come see this museum. Entrance is free and so is parking.

Asides from the cool trains there are a few hiking trails for a great active day.
