Every single time I have called (there is a long wait on hold), I have spoken with a pleasant and knowledgeable rep. Every time I have emailed, I have received a lengthy response with details. Last summer I drove there and the gentleman who helped me was outstanding. Everybody was pleasant and extremely helpful. I was shocked more teachers and state employees don't go there in person to get the facts. I have never ever had a poor dealing with ANY employee of this office. I think if you are going to retire, you are foolish not to see a counselor in person. You can set it up on line with MBOS so easily. I highly recommend this office!!!!!

I've had to transfer funds and move retirement accounts before, but I have never had as hard a time getting anyone on the phone or to email me back as this office. I've never managed to speak to anyone despite sitting on hold for hours. It takes months for anything to get accomplished. Their website is confusing (especially right now with a mix of old and new webpages and dead links) and doesn't actually help resolve anything. Getting a statement of account takes what feels like an act of Congress! I'm sure they're badly understaffed, but this is so badly run and organized it's unreal.

Only phone number is automated, nearly impossible to get a human on the phone... All the while you are constantly prompted to enter more PI. The recording tells you after each hoop you jump through all about the alleged representatives standing by... And that if you make an incorrect selection, you will be transferred to a rep who will try and help connect you. But almost every selection dumps you into a loop of more questions and tells you to call back when you have correct info... Disgusting customer service

It is almost impossible to speak with anyone there. I am usually put on hold for more than an hour. Plus the representatives are rude and incompetent.
