I began taking lessons at Cherokee Hill Farm about a year ago. I grew up riding horses and wanted to get back in the saddle. Mike has been very accommodating with scheduling lessons in the evening and on weekends (I work full-time during the week). He is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent instructor, willing to invest time with his students. I would definitely recommend Cherokee Hill Farm to riders of any age and skill level.

We have been at Cherokee Hill Farm for almost a year now. What we found was a farm where horses truly love to be at. The care each horse receives is outstanding, and the pastures are very large and well maintained. The location next to FENCE offers direct access to miles of trails. What we have found most rewarding is the lesson program, where a rider is taught how to ride, and not just be along for the ride. Our daughter progressed more in three months under the lesson program at Cherokee Hill than she had in the previous year of lessons. She is 11 years old and has quickly become a confident and accomplished rider. If you are looking for a great place to board, or a lesson program that will truly teach the core foundations needed to become an accomplished rider you need to consider this farm.

A wonderful place to take lessons or board your horse! Cherokee Hill Farm offers large, airy barns, lots of pasture, a riding ring, and direct access to the FETA trail system. The lesson horses are kind and very safe, making lessons enjoyable for riders of all levels (and ages - including young children). Mike and his staff give exceptional attention to the health and well-being of every horse on the farm. If you're looking for a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere with happy horses, this is the place for you.

I started taking beginner riding lessons about 8 months ago at Cherokee Hills Farm. The first thing I noticed when seeing the facilities was the cleanliness of the barn and stalls. The horses appeared well cared for and happy. I am pleased with my instructions on riding as well as grooming and tacking up the horse. The horse I use for my lesson is incredibly sweet and patient which makes for a lovely ride. I have also witnessed the great care all of the horses receive here, including specialized care for injured horses to training them. The horse's needs and comfort come first here and that is very important. Mike is also a very knowledgeable instructor and I have learned a great deal in my time riding here. I highly recommend this establishment.

Cherokee Hill Farm offers a relaxed atmosphere for boarders of various riding disciplines. Located in Old Hunting Country of Tryon, NC it is part of the Foothills Equestrian Trail Association providing over 100 miles of trails. The stable provides good-sized stalls that are light and airy. Staff maintain stalls on a daily basis and provide horses with 2 meals along with hay and water during nightly checks. Grooming services are also available. Special attention is given to horses with injuries or illnesses and owners are appreciative of the help that is provided. When I retired, I enrolled in the lesson program. I hadn't ridden in 20 years and Mike provided classical riding instruction which allowed me to enjoy riding hunt seat as opposed to the western discipline I had know as a child. I quickly felt the magic of connecting with a horse who adopted me!
