Hopefully those of you in the private sector receive better service than we do in the public sector. This Union seems dead set on furthering it's own agenda at the cost of our rights. We never see our reps and the Union just bought off on DOC conducting mandatory Covid testing of staff even after those incarcerated were given the right of refusal. This in addition to their questionable politics has caused me to OPT OUT. Not sure what caused all of this but the timeline started when John Scearcy and his entourage took over a perfectly functioning Union.

I believe they have good intentions, however when in grieving situations i feel the play it safe and not push issues of heavy importance do to the lack of legal stance they have or in other words chosing to not address conflict do to time and rites of contracts but choose a more it happen lets just get thru it and let it go. We have remember we cant let everything go there has got to be accountability for all.

Very Proud member of teamsters 117 for 6 years. Worked with Rob DeRosa who was our negotiator and representative, very thankful to have him and the union by our side especially at those critical moments when we need our Union to help be our voice to the employer to what our needs are. A great Union to be a member of.

I'm glad I no longer have to be a part of this union. The only way to fix the issues everyone had with the employer was to find a new one. This union sucks. They don't help, and don't get back to you. Plus the reps are constantly replaced. It's like they never existed! Except for the monthly union dues..
