This place was soooooo AMESOME & affordable. 10.69 for that huge serving!!! On top of that some AMAZING STRANGER PAID FOR OUR MEAL WITHOUT EVEN A WORD AND DISAPPEARED BEFORE WE COULD THANK HIM/HER. SO IF YOU DID THIS AND YOU JUST SO HAPPEN TO SEE THIS POST!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. THAT WAS AN AMAZING THING YOU DID AND WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU. I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK HERE. The window cleaner even came and told us jokes it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Much needed in these times. Thanks wait staff for the friendly, speedy service. Oh my goodness, you will walk away happy and full! One of the best cafeteria style restaurants in Tulsa hands down. They have delicious daily specials as well as a blue light special. Definitely home cooking. Friendly, polite and entertaining staff ready to serve. Such a pleasant atmosphere that will make you come back over and over. A TULSA MUST!
This would have been a 5 star review if their hours were different!! Omgosh!! This is my absolute FAVORITE place to eat in Tulsa!! The Chicken Fried Chicken and the Chicken Fried Steak is what they are famous for, BUT EVERYTHING tastes like dishes that my Momaw used to make. The only thing I don't like about Nelson's are their hours; Monday-Friday 7am-2pm.... if they were open at least on Saturdays this would have been a 5 star review. Unfortunately I work downtown during the hours they are open and don't have enough time to get there, get some food and get back to work. When I do get an occasional day off, I go there for lunch everytime! If you are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to eat there, DO IT. I PROMISE you will IT!!
