YWCA Tulsa Reviews | Rating 4.8 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

YWCA Tulsa is located in Tulsa, United States on 1910 S Lewis Ave #200. YWCA Tulsa is rated 4.8 out of 5 in the category indoor swimming pool in United States. In 2014, YWCA Tulsa celebrates one hundred years of working toward a more empowered and inclusive community. Though the political and social climate of 1914 looked quite different from the context of today, tackling the challenges and problems of our society has consistently required a strong commitment to meeting the needs of women and their families. In the first decades after our founding, YWCA Tulsa worked to improve race relations in a divided city, offered occupational training to young women, and provided economic support to families during our country’s most troubling economic times. Today, our work still reflects these foundational values, as we help seniors and children become healthier and stronger, assist newcomers as they increase their self-sufficiency with language and job skills, help women through the financial and legal challenges of divorce, and empower individuals and organizations to create and sustain inclusive cultures.

I got a membership at the YWCA after a doctor suggested I start swimming to help strengthen my weak side. I chose the location due to convenience and have now been a member for more than three years. I have moved further away now but keep returning for several reasons. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have helped me locate lost items on several occasions. The facility is always clean. As of this month they have a freshly remodeled pool. I have hesitated sharing my love for the YWCA for a selfish reason. My favorite thing about it is there is almost no one there when I work out. I go early and usually swim then go to the weight room. The handful of regulars all know each other and there is rarely ever a wait for machines and I almost never have to share a lane when swimming. The price I pay for my membership is well worth it and it includes access to their other location as well. There are several classes available including spin class and even therapeutic dance. The average member when I am there is older than me, I assume around 50-years-old and is evenly mixed between men and women. Childcare is available but I do not know the details.

Variety of types and levels of classes from beginners pilates to intense boot camp, flexible childcare hours for all ages with lots of books and toys and sweet teachers that you can utilize daily, swimming lessons, aquatics classes, and a hot tub. Dance teams and swim teams from around town practice here and it's fun to see them!
