Doing Business with Turnkey was easy, and seamless. I actually called Turnkey and added a night and arrived 1 day early. The person handling the call was wonderful and even though it took a little while, my mistake, it was a wonderful experience. The door codes were pretty handy, and the tablet in the condo is a good idea. Great experience. Will use again if in the area that I am traveling to.

We’re currently locked outside our house on DAY 3 of what has been a nightmare experience so far. The lock is broken and we’re still waiting for someone to offer to come and help. DAY 1 — we arrive and there’s no water. It was cut off and no one bothered checking. After waiting for six hours for a response, we checked into a hotel. Other problems: house was dirty (see pictures) despite ‘professional sanitizing team’ in midst of COVID-19 pandemic. DAY 2 — they refused to issue a refund for the stay when we complained. In addition to water outage, broken ice maker and dirt, the furniture did not match pictures. So we were stuck. Fast forward to DAY 3. Lock broken. It’s about to rain and we’re locked out, waiting for help and no idea when anyone will arrive.

Do yourself a favor and don't deal with this scam of a company. I NEVER write bad reviews, ever. Worst experience in travel I've had. We booked a property for over 600 per night (4 nights, over 2600) and arrived to find the following issues; foul odor throughout, stains on carpets, rust on door handles and vents, dust layers, rust on dryer, heavy algae build up on home covering even windows, broken decking, mold on vents, heavy soiling around door handles, rusty and falling apart grill, chipped dishes, ripped seat covers, a fence starting to fall down, a cigarette burn in a chair, marked up walls, a sticky film on cabinets, 20 year old blankets/comforters, a stove that looked like it had been salvaged from somewhere else, a back yard with plastic chairs toppled over and last but not least I killed several cockroaches in the bedroom. To be fair, I killed them so quick they could have been another type of bug but we were sure enough they were we slept with the light on and fully clothed. We also purchased scented candles and bug spray to try and mask the scent and kill insects. In short, we paid a premium price for a property billed as great and family friendly and it was a total dump. We have dozens of pictures to prove it. We spent 30 hours trying to resolve the issue, basically we stated we would pay for the night we spent but wanted out, as it was clearly not what we booked. The property management company, which gave us the run around for the entire day, initially offered at 130 discount off of our 2600 bill. We obviously found that offensive. They then offered to let us leave immediately (after we have been here for 24 hours) and they would refund a little over 500. So they offered to refund 500 of a 2600 bill for us spending one night, in essence charging us over 2100 for one night in a roach motel. We politely declined. Run.

Turnkey Vacation Rentals provided detailed information regarding our stay daily. They also kept us posted if any early check ins or out available on our vacation. I would use this business to book my next vacation.

South Padre Island, TX, was awesome. Water was clean, people were friendly, restaurants were great! The particular unit we stayed in was clean, but had a lot of deferred maintenance. When we got there, the fridge wasn’t cooling (although it did eventually), the back door wouldn’t lock, and overall it just seemed like it needed quite a bit of TLC. Upon checkout, we were told Turnkey doesn’t give the attention to detail to their units that some of the other property management groups do. We will be back, but we will use Vacasa or Padre Island Rentals next time.
