This place is the best bargain in Illinois. 15 on weekend to get in and all kinds of things to see and do. Lots of old and new train engines and cars to view with display signs explaining the different exhibits. 3 different trains to ride, 2 were 4 mile long trips that goes out into the surrounding farmland giving you the feel/idea of taking a cross country trip, the other was a electric tram that circles around this large complex. The folks that volunteer here are extremely sincerely friendly and helpful in answering any questions you ask plus the gift shop is reasonably priced. We will diffently be making a return visit with family and friends to share this wonderful fun filled day. Well worth the hour drive to get here from east lake county

My family loves this museum!! Amazing variety of railroad machinery and memorabilia. It's a must see for anyone interested in trains and American history.
This unconventional live museum is very engaging and hands on. It's like an amusement park but the rides are way way better, customer service is astounding, and the authentic atmosphere really takes your guard down. Would come here again
Excellent, we had a great time. It is very educational for the kids, love the nostalgia and seeing how our predecessors enjoyed transport many decades ago and in the last 2 centuries. Great collection of train cars and locomotives. Highly recommended for a fun family outing.
