The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a chain of themed areas at Universal Parks & Resorts based on the Harry Potter media franchise, adapting elements from the Warner Bros.' film series and original novels by J.K. Rowling. The areas were designed by Universal Creative from an exclusive license with Warner Bros. Entertainment. A Harry Potter-themed attraction at either a Disney or Universal park was rumored in 2003.However, the rights to the Harry Potter franchise had been acquired by Warner Bros., who denied all rumors. Both Disney and Universal entered bidding negotiations with Warner Bros. and Rowling for the theme park rights to Harry Potter. In 2004, Rowling signed a letter-of-intent with Disney, with the company intending to develop a Harry Potter section within the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World. On January 2007, About.com reported a rumor from a \highly credible source\ that the Islands park's Lost Continent area was going to be re-themed o the stories and characters of one of the most popular children's franchises\.Other sources followed up in the next few days with unofficial confirmation that the new area would involve Harry Potter.

Oh me oh my! As a 32 year old child.. oops I mean woman... bringing this amazing series to life was nothing short of magical! My boyfriend and I had a beyond amazing time!! We got to run around the Wizarding world like the most humblest of children that just got their letter from Hogwarts! What a beautifully, magical and breathtakingly detailed place. A MUST visit for the kid and adult alike!‍️‍️‍️‍️

Great for kids especially if you have girls. It's a fairy tale land with cute small houses and stories. Easy parking, street meter. No need to park inside. Get a keys one is enough for 4-6 kids, they all can gather and listen the stories. Highly recommend! Plenty of restaurants around, right by Lake Merritt.

Do yourself a favor and just go ahead and experience this. It's so cool. No one ever breaks character and you are completely immersed in the world of Harry Potter. Go get a wand... just do it. They are magic and make things move throughout the park and they work in both California and Florida parks. The Three Broomsticks is impressive. The food is solid 4 stars if not better. The chief took the time to come talk to us about our meal and our time there, which was impressive given the number of people and turnover amounts of meals happening at Amy given time. These rides were our favorite... hands down. Well thought out, fun, and there was little wait time. Butter beer is a must. Hot and frozen are both so good, but frozen was better. We were lucky enough to catch a performance of some of the Hogwarts students while we were there too.
