Great collections and open to the public (though those hours are restricted a little). There are various towers and floors with great signage and access. Excellent library!

Fantastic place, and so great they allow visitors. You will find yourself a little lost (as was I) when first exploring the stacks. They employ hand-crank movable bookshelves in places like the Africana section, and certain areas house books under extremely low light. Nevertheless, the study spots in the commons area are great, and the WiFi fast. Certainly a great place any student, NU or otherwise, should visit.
Gorgeous library...but no visitors allowed on Sunday
Super-helpful staff and a great environment to research on your own or collaboratively.
Absolutely the finest University library I have ever used. An imposing multi-towered edifice. Climbing its steps - a ritualized ascent towards wisdom. I never knew its holdings were ranked 12th in the nation. More than 6 million print and electronic volumes. I knew that a world of information was here. All I had to do was look. Non-circulating Special Collections of Deering. Core. Newspapers, microfilm, microfiche. Multimedia. The stacks. A researcher's dream. I was able to find anything and everything I wanted. An intelligent, resourceful staff. A source of great pleasure. Open to the community but not all. There was a day Bambi tried to enter through the glass. It was unaware no deer in Deering. Besides, no N.U. ID. Animal control had to be called. Seek and Ye shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you. The greatest single resource in your quest for knowledge, here.
