Tree county fell and damaged a vehicle. There was nothing they could because it was an act of God. Informed it me it would take up to 12 months to come out and trim the tree and up to 30 days remove branches. Two weeks, another county tree cracks and a huge tree like branch falls between yards. Initially tried to tell me there was nothing they could because it fell on private property. What?!?!?

So far we are now a week past a tree removal. One out of the three people I have spoken to by phone in the last two days have managed to sound professional. The second one hung up on me, so there is that. She told me the county doesn't remove trees - if it is on county property and it fell on my fence, they do. Why do we pay county taxes again?

Generally I am very dissatisfied with the service and the system. The staff seems very uninterested in getting you through the process and have very poor attitudes. You are continuously told how backed up they are in the review process, yet there seems to be no urgency to catch up. Plans are sent back for items already on them and they still want you to pay for the revision fee. There are a few good employees who generally seem to be relatively new. Santa-maria is one who stands out but there are a few others who genuinely seem to want to help and are very friendly. But overall, it is a very poor, unorganized system. I have had plans returned numerous times for stupid items like no front elevation drawing for an addition on the rear, they want R-20 insulation in the walls (not R-19). That would be fine if R-20 were available. Also R-19 when compressed into a 2\x 4\ wall the R value is significantly reduced to around R-9. These people are supposed to be knowledgeable engineers when in fact they are not very knowledgeable in common sense.

Horrible service! Who has nothing but an automated system? How lazy is everyone up here in Maryland, ya'll seem really lazy and useless. Whomever is the voice needs to change. The people are rude and helpless. Need an immediate change in process and program. The state as a whole needs to get its act together. I can see the people who say everything is good are obviously friends of some sort.

I am referring to my experience getting a permit for a simple deck for my yard. The process is ridiculous and confusing but everyone who does their research should at least be mostly prepared and get through it. I had to pay an architect to help me through everything. For a deck. Crazy. I had great service from the start. Everyone I talked to was helpful except the last one. The last person who reviews the actual drawings/plans and approves the structure was insane. He had 0 patience and lashed out at me repeatedly. He knows that he has has the power to approve or deny so he knows that people won't give him a hard time. I really had a hard time keeping my cool. The inspector who came.out and did my inspections was great. In the.end I feel like the process is a bit over the top and could be improved significantly. I actually had to pay the same amount of money to the city as well and they didn't even check anything. It's a huge and unorganized racket. Welcome to Pretty Good County
