Nicely maintained trail, lots of bird life, not much parking so it wasn't very crowded.

10 Cash Vehicle Fee Required This trail was absolutely gorgeous, probably my favorite trail so far. I did the Lost Mountain Trail which I found to be the perfect length and difficulty for a nice weekend hike. It took my partner and I about 2 hours to complete. The only downside is that we drove in from about 1 hour away, and didn’t know there was a 10 entrance/vehicle fee. You can pay by cash or pay online only, but there is a good chance you won’t get cell service there. We ended up driving back 20 minutes back the way we came to find a place where we could access cash, which definitely set our starting time back. Luckily, the park was not busy or crowded at all.

Visited on 5/26/2018. Well this lovely, until we realized the tall grass was FULL of ticks. And you walk through a lot of tall grass. I've never seen or heard of so many in one place. We must have pulled at least 50 off us between two people and one small dog. So if you go, bring LOTS of heavy duty bug spray or go in colder months at least. Update: got home and removed 20 more ticks from my 30lb dog. He easily had 50 on him. And that is with monthly Frontline. I've never seen anything like it.
