Busy crossing, towards USA car queues are long and take a while even during quieter periods like midday. During the evening I saw car queues which would take at least an hour to get through. The pedestrian crossing is fine and situated in a new building. It’s clear a lot of time is needed for drivers to cross to USA.

It's well after midnight. I have been in line in the standard lane for almost 4 hours and am only to the pedestrian crossing and haven't moved in like 30 minutes... and the folks next to me have barely moved. Not sure why these lines can't keep moving as that's why we agreed to get in the line... so we could move to the front and cross into the USA and not sit in a parking lot. We know its a long line but people are happy and hopeful as long as we are moving forward. Please fix these problems as people who don't have another driver can't even go to the bathroom! I saw elderly people who had to get out if thier cars prob cause they had sat too long. Update: It ended up taking me 5 hours and 20 min. The border agent was very nice and apologized and said that the worst time was actually 7 hours that night. So I will change my 1 star to 2 thanks to the worker being understanding.

Funny thing is, I actually had more issues getting into Mexico. Last time (2003) I walked in, there wasn't even anyone checking anything. You just walked in. Now they want you to have a valid passport. Mine is expired. On my way back I was greeted by a very friendly border official. He was glad to take my expired passport. I'm guessing Thursdays (10/29/2020) are very slow.

It was pretty sweet & easy to go from the states to Mexico. We drove. On the way back I took an Uber from a friends place to the Mexican side of the border & walked through to San Diego aka San Ysidro East/West Entrance. The funny thing was that as easy as it was, it was interesting to see that crossing back into America, I was greeted with a not so friendly greeting. It was really disappointing to have had to witness that. Heading into Mexico people were friendly & nice. My review is not about the greeting I received & more about the ease it took to get to & from both sides. Easy peezy. Thank you to both countries (I am American) for taking great care of me.

Visited in late October. I crossed the border by walking. To get to Mexico it was very fast and efficient. However, in the early morning when I was returning to the states, the waiting time was long because many kids and adults were crossing the border to get to schools and workplaces. Overall, not many questions were asked and everything was going smoothly. Both officers; Americans and Mexicans were friendly and helpful.
