This has been the BEST place for my daughter and myself. My daughter started by participating in summer camp and then it just grew from there. She has gained so much confidence and skill in a short period of time. I purchased a horse from Jennifer and Brian and then started down the ranch riding path. I can’t say enough positive things about this barn and the people that have made us feel so comfortable. GREAT place to learn ! Great place to leave your horse for training! Great place for whatever your experience or level of riding to find quality instruction and learn from the best. Highly recommended!

When I started at the Heart of Texas Equestrian Academy I had just recovered from major spine surgery and a broken hip from back-to-back riding accidents at another barn. Although I had 10 years of riding young OTTBs under my belt, my accidents left me traumatized and I needed to start from square one. Jennifer (the owner) and Katelyn (my instructor) were so kind and understanding and allowed me to move up at my own pace. They never asked me to do anything I was uncomfortable with. I can honestly say that Katelyn is the best instructor I have ever had. She is positive but realistic, encouraging but not pushy, and actually teaches rather than criticizes or yells. She's even helped me through my mid-lesson panic attacks and I've never felt judged by her or anyone else at the barn. I've always struggled with fitting in and making friends at other barns, but not here...HOTEA has become my HOME. I can't recommend them enough!

Great place for horseback riding lessons of all ages.The staff is very friendly, pleasant, professional, and experienced riders/trainers. The facility is neat/clean , has a large arena and fun trail obstacle course. Everyone is accommodating— I don’t have enough words to explain how awesome Jennifer Williams and her staff are!!

My experience with HOTEA has been wonderful! It started when I messaged Jennifer about my mare I was having trouble with. In a few months, Jennifer and Katelyn had her and me working together on a whole other level. In this time, my confidence and skill level has grown as well. I couldn’t have imagined how much joy, pride and sense of accomplishment that one message to HOTEA’s Facebook page would bring me. They are now working wonders with my young horse in cow horse training. Whether it’s learning how to ride, refreshing your skills, riding English or Western, finding the perfect lease horse or sending one of your own horses for training on any level, you won’t regret giving Jennifer a call!

My daughter began training with Jennifer before HOTEA/JWB was officially established. I am not a rider and was not raised around horses, and as the non-show-mom that I am, I felt fairly intimidated by all that I didn’t know. However, this is absolutely a non-issue at HOTEA. I can attest that the approachable professionalism and positive encouraging attitude of Jennifer and Brian and everyone who works with them reflect their character and values at the core. Technically clients, we were made to feel like friends, and my daughter’s well-being and growth and development as a rider and young woman were the priority from day one. My daughter has moved on from the barn to try other activities after the better part of 10 years of riding, but there is no doubt in my mind that her years with this barn and these trainers were formative and will stay with her forever. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
