You get a train experience, if you've never had one. However... you deserve better than this. Not scenic at all. I posted the best pictures which don't show much. We bought first class but had no air conditioning so we had to move to coach... Where the seats don't recline and there is less leg room - shouldn't have to choose between A/C and those things. Urinal didn't work. Biggest bummer was total lack of scenery. More industrial than scenic.
Love the trains. Been on the scenic many times, but the best so far for us is the steam engine and for the grandsons Thomas. It's what you make of it, sure coming out of the Rockside station there isn't much to see at first, but give it time and enjoy the ride.
If you like to avoid crowds, go on a weekday or go early in the morning. My husband knows that I don't like crowds. He surprised me by getting us an entire train to ourselves for our wedding anniversary. The ride is very peaceful and relaxing. The train conductor came to meet with us personally and we learned a lot about Cleveland's history during the ride. Lastly, it's an affordable but lengthy outing for a couple on a budget.
Awesome experience. Definitely reasonably priced compared to other scenic railroads we have been in the past. Staff were courteous and the whole journey was wonderful.
