Howard is one-in-a-million!!! And I mean that literally. Anyone who has HI-FI equipment and lives in So Cal, knows Howard's supreme genius for fixing vintage audio. I bought a 6300 Marantz turntable on Ebay (I know, I know, bad decision). UPS packed and shipped it and I wish I had a picture of the contents when it arrived. The turntable was in pieces and the only thing that it had been packed in was a SINGLE layer of bubble wrap, the arm wasn't even secured with the littlest piece of tape. Deplorable. I was in tears. I found Howard with online research. I read all the reviews; everyone said how amazing he was. I just knew he was the only one to put the pieces back together and make it work. I picked it up today and it is STUNNING. IMPECCABLE. He, during the pandemic shutdown mind-you, found another 6300 and had to pick the needed parts from a spare he found, to make mine whole again. I have been playing it all afternoon and it works beautifully. It truly is in pristine condition. I am grateful to Howard for all the effort he put into my turntable. His little shop is bursting at the seams, he has so much work and so little help. He truly is a master of his craft. God bless you Sir. I am so grateful for your work.

My 1979 Technics SL-1300 was showing serious signs of age. I brought it to Howard and discussed the many issues during a very pleasant conversation. After a couple of weeks, Howard called to say it was ready. I can honestly say, it sounds better than new! The static is gone, the speed is consistent and the new needle recommended by Howard sound fantastic! We're lucky to have a place like Audio Specialist nearby! Highly recommended.

I was referred to the Audio Specialist from someone named Chris from Record Surplus in Santa Monica (also highly recommend!!). I have an old Audio Technics turntable which needed a replacement needle and Howard from the Audio Specialist was very prompt and was able to locate the replacement stylus I needed. Due to Covid, it was appointment only but he replaced the stylus, helped me take it back to my car and was just so helpful and kind. I was able to get an appointment very quickly even though it was the week of Thanksgiving. If you have any old school tech that needs some TLC, Howard is the guy!

Howard (aka Audio Specialist) and his team are truly going to change my teenage daughter's life by introducing her to vinyl. They sourced a beautiful Newcomb record player and got it to me promptly (in time for her 16th birthday) way up in Humboldt County! His customer service, his passion and commitment are unmatchable.
