I have taken 2 classes with Andrea. She is a wonderful teacher. Patient, I am a slow knitter. She answers all my questions. Will do stitches again so I can follow her. I am looking forward to taking more classes with her.

I only had a few minutes to explore this quaint shop, but loved it. Each yarn line had a small sign saying where it originated from (i.e., Hedgehog Fibres had a small sign with their name and Cork Co. Ireland). Mary, one of the store staff, was super friendly and answered my questions. Of course I asked the typical, ‘Do you have anything local?’ She pointed me towards a few yarns which were dyed in So. Cal. Pictured is what came home with me. Thanks, Mary - from one LYS worker to another.

What a great blend of experiences! Magnificent selection of unique quality yarns and tools coupled with Lili who patiently,skillfully wore all the hats...teacher/demonstrator/hand holder/cashier and even a little stand-up! I wandered in and felt so welcomed and safe, I just hung out , learned some stuff, practiced some techniques, took home a bag of gorgeous goodies....I WILL be back despite the distance from my usual haunts...great little place with a variety well worth the trip.

The best selection of quality yarns. Inviting atmosphere to sit and knit or crochet. . If you need help or have a question, the staff and owner, Leah, are more than happen to help. They also have great classes for advanced to beginner knitters & crocheters. Always something new & fun on their calendar. ..So happy they are around. The Altered Stitch is my favorite yarn shop in all of Los Angeles.
