It was very pricey for the portion but the food was great. I hate how their processes are antiquated. There is not online ordering nor is there a system for determining how long of a wait you will endure. I was told by Vanessa my food would be ready 20-25 minutes, it ended up taking close to an hour(exact total wait time 55 minutes). Most of the food was warm except for the shrimp, it was cold. As for the brisket, request lean if you don’t want fat because they will give you the pieces with fat and not good at all if you’re a meat person. Macaroni salad was amazing. The fries were also good. The shrimp was good too. I like how thick the shrimp was. The pork chop was plain it was still good. Overall the food was great. The customer service was alright. I believe I wouldn’t go back due to wait time because it was too long of a wait on that side of town after ordering.

An absolute must!!!!! Nestled in a small plaza this eatery gives you everything from great food to terrific customer service. Everything we ate was fantastic! We decided to make our own family style meal so we tasted a little bit of everything. Fried ribs...delicious! The Pit is probably the best brisket I've ever had! Moms fried wings...very tasty. Fried shrimp was super good! We highly recommend the rice with gravy, collard greens, red beans and Mac n cheese for sides. All were seasoned to perfection. I believe it's family owned and everyone we encountered was extremely pleasant. We will definitely return and will spread the word about this gem!
Food amazing, atmosphere on point, welcoming & friendly service, but most of all can’t say enough how well our meal came out. Wow!! Never going anywhere else for a good southern meal again. Thank you Moms for taking us out to Louisiana for dinner.
This was my first time here and Im glad I gave it a try!! I ordered the "voodoo chicken with potato salad and white rice " the dry rub in the chicken is a mixture between sweet and a bit of cajun, really good. The only thing I would recommend is to add maybe one more piece of chicken or the portion of the side dishes to be more generous for the price .
Food was AMAZING! If you want some REAL soul food you MUST come here! Just like Granny's cooking! You must get there before the dinner rush though because everything gets sold out after 5pm since they buy their ingredients same day, nothing is frozen and thawed This is definitely my new go to spot in the valley!
Had the Oxtail smothered wife had the smothered pork chops Mac cheese southern style collards greens on point we will return yes lord. Oh and the hot water corn bread sweet potato pie to go. Price was right. And the service was A1
This restaurant is located in the old "Mom's BBQ" spot, the new food menu is awesome! First time visiting, might be our new Sunday Lunch/Dinner spot. Very friendly and welcoming service from servers, even met Chef Baker who came out to see if we were good with the food, gave us his history and background, and the vision for the restaurant. We will definitely be back as regulars.
Really wonderful find! So happy we decided to try this place. Everything was good but the huge winners were the Jambalaya, the Voodoo Chicken, the Bayou Basket, and the Mac & Cheese. Some of the best Hushpuppies I have ever had! Make sure you check this place out...you won't regret it!
