Our experience with them was fantastic. They were very communicative when our trip was cancelled due to rough seas. On the trip itself, they took very good care of us (and others) when we got pretty sea sick - suggesting where to sit, checking on us regularly, bringing bags and ginger chews. When we saw wildlife they told us interesting information about it. We were very impressed with them. It was a great trip!

We enjoyed an outdoor, socially distanced whale watching outing. Island Packers was very professional and required masks at all times, etc. A good Covid pandemic outing! We didn't see whales, but still got outdoors to do something different in nature and see the Channel Islands...and at least twice came across super-playful dolphins, dozens or even hundreds at a time -- amazing!!

These guys are really awesome! We did a camping trip over Anacapa island and almost for stranded because of the choppy seas and low tides. But they made a way to get us back!! I would definitely recommend them for whale/dolphin watching and just an awesome experience and great service!

2/5/21, Waters were calm and the weather was perfect. Not too many people were onboard. It did seem a bit expected to know ahead of time what you wanted to do on the island, as the trails weren't exactly explained much. I can't remember the exact name of the trail, but we hiked all the way from Prisoners Harbor to Pelican Bay. I believe roundtrip was almost 8 miles. It definitely had us breaking a sweat and needing to pause for water and catch our breath, so be wise with time and your abilities. Lots of \stairs\ up and down. Took us about an hour one way including stops to snap a few pics and drink water. Worth it! Bring a packed lunch and water, it was forecasted to be 50s but was actually 65 and felt warmer. Be prepared with jackets but you also might be tying them around your waist. The captain was great explaining things and slowing down to see wildlife in the way back. Overall GREAT trip, I recommend!

I'd give 6 stars if I could, they were super helpful and informative and professional. I went twice for island trips, both captains spent 30 extra minutes to watch whales anyway. Also they have very good connection with NPS, which made our camping trip to channel islands seamless. Can't wait to travel with Island Packers again!
