Great all around experience. Was the first time for everyone in my group using this boat and we plan to use them again in the future. Captain, crew and divemaster are all friendly and extremely helpful.

It’s really great. We spent the night on the boat before the trip, and that already paid half the price, given steep hotel prices in Ventura. Diving was amazing. We did 3 dives. They also serve breakfast as lunch, both are very delicious. The crew is friendly, but not overwhelmingly trying for tips, as in some other places like that. The guys are cool. Highly recommend. The price is really reasonable for the experience you get.

Last weekend I went on a full day tour on the famous Spectre Boat. Three dives, lovely meals in between and a very friendly crew. What more to ask? As I was traveling from The Netherlands to the US, I wanted as little hassle as possible with booking a diving excursion & gear rental. Spectre Boat made my life so easy! Booking the trip with rental gear included as very, very easy. The crew makes sure everything you need is available on the boat before heading off to the kelp forests. The trip itself consisted of three dives, all sites were amazing. It was a pretty crowded boat, but managable. The food served is amazing, I actually forgot about the BBQ's they have available on the boat. The lunch served is great - You will not be hungry on this boat. Breakfast is included as well. We left at 07:00, got back to the harbor around 15:30. The crew was very helpful and friendly, I absolutely loved this memorable experience. Even though I went alone, it was very easy to find yourself a buddy the crew will highlight this mongst the group of other divers. This tour is highly recommended!

Amazing dive crew and master. One of the best diving boats I’ve been on. All incredibly friendly. We had a great day with them and would definitely come back again

Dove with Spectre recently (covid times) as well as over a year ago (BBQ hot tub times). I will speak to the more recent experience: I applaud their adherence to Covid precautions and compliance to CDC guidelines by enforcing masks. The experience felt very safe and sanitary. To our surprise, my dive partner and I had booked a dive on a day Spectre was catering to lobster hunting season so all dive sites were in gaming territory (unprotected) for the divers planning to hunt. We weren’t told of this over the phone when we booked (we would have passed), but upon heading out to sea and finding out we decided to make the best of it and hoped to learn about lobster hunting (maybe we’ll try it some day!). The briefings were great per usual - with an emphasize on where to scope out the lobsters, but I wish more was said about respecting the ocean while doing so. On one of the dives we witnessed a diver barreling along the ocean floor, pulling on and whipping around boulders, banging his tank into rocks, plants, and small sea critters in his path.... it was very disappointing to see such destructive behavior and inconsideration (it’s not a playground... or is it? Is this what unprotected gaming sites look like?). The experience actually made us more appreciative of the protected areas and how important those regulations are. It was still a fun day of diving despite the surprise theme. I would absolutely recommend Spectre for fun diving or for any lobster hunting enthusiasts.
