We arrived at the emergency department and over five hours later, still has NOT been triaged. They have under 20 beds, and can only see that number of patients! If you are pressed for time, don’t come here. We have seen shift changes, staff go on lunch and return, sparse staff standing in place. I’m not for certain if they are underfunded, understaffed, lack resources or not committed to quality care BUT-One thing is for certain, out veterans deserve better! Ok, 5 days later, I am pleased with the staff and the level of care we ultimately received. Once we were to a bed in the emergency department, the attentive-quality of care was delivered and at points exceeded my expectations. The level of customer service, communication, and quality of care from the Doctors, nurses, residents and technicians in the in-patient and emergency department of the veterans hospital were exceptional.
Generally takes longer to get an appointment and you need to go through your primary doctor to get non-basic care. Service is good and responsive when being treated.
