We recently had to take our dog, Zoey, here late one night. We called ahead for guidance. Information was obtained and details shared, all with a sense of urgency so we could get on the road quickly. Sadly, our dog had to be euthanized, but the doctor and staff were compassionate, informative, and supportive as we made difficult decisions and contacted family. We hope the need doesn't arise again, but if it does, we will return. We are grateful this service is available in our area!

Just got back from taking my cat in for an infected eye. Considering this is an after hours, emergency service, I felt the charge was reasonable. They gave him eye ointment and an antibiotic injection for upper respiratory infection, and then we were on our way. Thank you for providing this service, it’s comforting to know you’re there if needed!

Veterinary Emergency Services in Verona was a life saver for my aging and ailing dog, Bimini. I drove from Harrisonburg to get pain meds for my dog and they worked me in with an appoint within hours of my call. My dog was terminally ill and suffered stomach cancer and lymphoma. She had been to her regular Vet and Internal Medicine Specialist Vet but was not able to receive care because they could not make diagnosis (6K misadventure). The Emergency Vet did a great job of being very candid and gentle in letting us know our beloved dog was dying. She took the time to explain the prognosis and selected drugs for Hospice care to provide palliative care for Bimini’s end of life journey. I highly recommend this Vet; she is very knowledgeable and can relate well both to dogs and owners alike to comfort them.

I went here just a few nights ago because my cat was experiencing seizures and tremors and I was nervous. I got there without reading many reviews and everything seemed fine. My cat was seen and they told me that it was a 1,000 charge to have her seen overnight on fluids. I turned this down because I was already taking her to the vet within a few hours the next day. They told me that if I wasn't going to keep her there overnight I might as well euthanize her. The vet that I went to this morning told me that everything was okay as long as I keep her on medication, not sure why they thought it was okay to say euthanize to a fur parent anxious and concerned. This place is sketchy. Please try and take your animal to another vet that actually cares.

I've had to go here twice, and they've been great. They're upfront on the phone about pricing, so you're not surprised with the bill. For what they provide, I don't think it's all that expensive. The vet was great at explaining things and going beyond the bare minimum. When my other cat ate a chocolate cookie, they took great care of him, too. They have an animal poison control person on staff who was able to calculate the risk based on his weight and the size and chocolate content of the cookie! They are thorough and careful.
