The coolest bookstore around Dublin. Rows and rows of book shelves in an old church. Two floors of books. Mostly used books. Lots of antique books...some from the 1800s. Sadly, this bookstore is closing soon. They are offering 20-30% off.

Awesome place. Can't believe its closing.
I LOVE IT! IT IS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKSHOPS IN TOWN. It is a renovated church they turned into a huge book store. I recommend everyone go there. Especially, if you have literary or "book worm" in your family. The store was originally a church in the 1860's, it was renovated and has a ton of books! If you are from out of books it is one of the most interesting stores to go & buy something in. The staff is nice knowledgeable, friendly, neat, & highly organized. They have a treasure trove of books, any book lover or rare book is here! IT IS A FUN AND INTERESTING PLACE TO SHOP AT! I highly recommend it. It is in Old Worthington by Sawmill Rd. Just an INCREDIBLE FIND! The bookstore owner is trying to make it a local historic landmark. Again, developers want to get rid of it and make it a corporate shop of coffee and dough nuts. When that is not needed in that area. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
I'm so very sad they're closing after all these years! It's truly the end of an era. I shall miss the cozy ambiance, eclectic offering of genres, and friendly staff.
My husband and I recently visited the shop for the second time in a decade. We find it to be easily accessed yet quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle of a large city. The selection is eclectic and loosely grouped into topic areas of interest. The prices are reasonable. The books are mostly from overruns and not necessarily used books although there is a used book section. In particular I found the section on ancient history and the arts to be very interesting . It's a great place to spend a rainy afternoon.
I've been going to this bookshop since I moved here in 2002. It's a shame that it has to close. We spend hours there and probably too much money, but we enjoy it because we find so many good books. It's nice and relaxing as well. We will surely miss this bookshop. I'm grateful my kids could experience going to a real bookshop before they all close. There are not many left. Everyone should visit the book loft in German village before that one has to close.
A piece of Columbus bibliophile history. Still a great bookstore. However, the store will be closing this Summer (August?). So get there while you still can. There aren't many "bookstores" left. Just stores that also sell books.
Whenever I go to a new place, I always google which book stores are around, because although I love to read, I enjoy browsing bookstores nearly as much. Of course I've been to The Book Loft in the German Village, and do recommend it if you find yourself in Columbus and like bookstores. But I've found The Book Loft a bit lacking. It's a little gimmick-y and always crowded. Not so with Village Bookshop. It's a large space, but I think at first glance you might think that there aren't as many books as you would like. When you get a bit deeper though, you realize it keeps going and there is an upstairs too. They have books arranged by section and there is a wide variety from art books, to travel, to used, to classics, fiction, sports related, etc. I read mostly modern classics and I was impressed with their selection. The atmosphere was quiet. The lady at the register extremely kind, after I approached her for help. Definitely the type to let me browse in peace. If you like a more secluded bookstore with many books to look through, this place is for you.
