I could not say enough great things about this place. First off this is a family friendly, outdoors oriented venue. Plenty of room to explore and avoid crowds while learning a little bit about gas and steam engines and appreciating the volunteers who keep this place running. They have something for everyone. Take the time to visit this place and enjoy the beautiful property.

The Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum was founded more than 50 years ago to preserve impressive examples of American craftsmanship and ingenuity. Since then, it has amassed an impressive collection of revolutionary power plants and powerful machines, including steam-powered tractors, mining equipment, and vintage Caterpillar dozers. The facility is located on North Santa Fe Avenue just outside Vista and includes nearly 60 acres of exhibits. As you wander the well-marked paths, you’ll find historical and technical information describing the things you’re seeing. Most guests stick around for an hour or two before heading off to other attractions.
Far and away some of the most interesting exhibits in the area. Everybody was knowledgeable and answered questions, gave demonstrations, etc. The model railroad on the grounds is very highly detailed in both scenery and the weathering applied to different locomotives and rolling stock.
Loved coming here as a kid. and now as an adult. Brought my son like my dad brought me, and his had brought him. Great exhibits and cool tractors and engines. Great model train exhibit too.
Great place to visit, was a little muddy after 3 days of rain but really enjoyed seeing all the different Antique Gas & Steam Engines. Great for education, or seeing all the old equipment. Great preservation, for all generations to enjoy.
