The entire Homestead Heritage village was impressive! We visited on our last day in Waco. We went to the general market, the coffee shop, the Homestead Cafe and most of the various shops in the craft village (pottery, woodworking, blacksmith and the Gristmill...there was also a fiber shop with materials but we didn't visit). The wait staff at the cafe were excellent! Very personable and attentive. The food was SO tasty! We ordered the Cowboy Coffee burger and the corn fritters...both amazingly good! The Coffee shop was also a nice place to sit and relax and the coffee was quite good! Sales associates in the shops were also friendly and helpful! Plan to spend 2-3 hours there if you plan to eat and shop.

Just a wonderful example of how life can be when everyone works together. Everyone was so kind and gracious and welcoming. The food at the Cafe was amazing and the areas where they work and create magnificent pottery, quilts, hand made wood furniture and baskets was so clean and organized. They're beautiful people with an even more beautiful community. Truly an awe inspiring place to visit! I'm hoping to go back and take classes on my next trip to Texas!

What a wonderful peaceful place. We loved all of the shops and artisans crafts, yarns, cheeses, and other food. The mill is pretty cool. Everyone is so friendly. Beautiful property. Think they'd notice if we moved onto their property? Haha

Amazing place. Pottery, weaving, woodworking, etc. is amazing. Wonderful atmosphere. Friendly folks. And the restaurant is the best kept secret. We try to visit at least monthly (don't live in the area), but do love the occasional date night at their restaurant. Small menu, all cooked perfectly. Poblano soup is to die for.

Such an interesting place. Always love going to the fair each year. Some great things to learn about simplicity, sustainability and Christian community. Also, the food is great and affordable. I know all the pottery, textiles and pottery are handmade, but they're also a little ridiculously priced at times. 175.00 for a broom? But I go for the seminars and the cinnamon rolls.
