Great place to hike with friends or family. Great trail network. A real hidden gem. It would be 5 stars if three things were improved, 1) water source for family fun 2) separate trails for mountain bike riders. 3) more law enforcement for poor driving. (Had the typical mustang guy) We heard him arguing with the gate staff. About not having his gate pass with him. Then he comes speeding up behind me. As I am driving 25mph. Then proceeded to pass right by me. Completely illegal pass. Solid yellow and well over the posted limit. If it was me ... This guy would get a park ban. Harassing park staff because you forgot something. It's not their issue. Then driving like your own the place. Self entitlement at it's best. I'm glad that no kids or animals crossed out in front of him. Otherwise this was my first time here. Living in the west valley 18 years. And now will be coming back to visit more. Park was very well kept. Great job to the staff!

Gorgeous views, if you want to get away from the city without going too far this is the perfect place. There are so many wonderful clean trails to explore and so much nature to appreciate and value. Treasure this place while we can, at only 7 bucks for a day pass you can't go wrong. Also please be respectful of nature, leave no trace. We get to share this phenomenal place with fascinating wildlife; it's their home.

This is a great park. The hikes can be as easy or difficult as you want. It is a true desert experience here. Also, I am finding this park seems to be the most dense in terms of desert vegetation that I have found in the Phoenix area. I can say for sure it is maybe 95% as good as the National Park - Organ Pipe Monument that requires a 2.5 hour drive and limited hotels. The only difference is the peaks in Organ Pipe Monument seem a bit more dramatic to me. Surprisingly, the best density of cactus is right around the entrance station. I am from the East Coast and been hiking almost every day here for two weeks. There are easy walks as you work your way up to the mountains (1 to 3 miles) and then periods of steep hiking if you want this. Ford Canyon has a nice path up a dry water fall area. Goat Camp trail is a nice one near the visitor's center with an easy initial period. Also, another bonus - uphill first, then downhill return.

Another of the many great Regional parks all around Phoenix. This park has it all , an incredible library, many trail heads and access points, super nice spread out campgrounds, well maintained recently upgraded sites. Solid mtn bike trails ,. Only draw back was the nearly constant roar of military jets ripping over the park . It was way worse this trip. During the rare breaks between flyovers one could really appreciate the music of the park. The living birds talking it up.
