Great time even during a 100 year snow and ice event. The Ranch made it a great hunt, even without electricity or fresh water. Awesome time, I will definitely come back...

Independence Ranch is a must go hunt. The staff, the food and the hunting is awesome. The sleeping accommodations are comfortable. If the need arises, you can also get a private room. A big thanks to everyone at the ranch for an amazing time, and much needed pork to bring home. We will be back! Ken Baney

Was a money pit. Three of us went, brought 100lbs of feed per person as instructed. They might have used 20lbs in total and the rest went to feed his other animals. Two day hunt was 1 short hunt at night the first day and three short stints the 2nd day. Cash only once onsite was an inconvenience. Paid for the 500lb package up front to find out on the second day the hogs we shot that day we couldn't take with us. Hit our limit of hogs at 500lbs and ended up with roughly 80lbs of meat, part of the meat was heart and liver. Had to pay extra to get sausage because we were flying out and needed the meat to be frozen, everything we shot the second day we had to pay an additional charge for sausage. Food was good, cabins were adequate, showers were functional, staff was polite.

My name is Ryan Moore and I was on my way back from San Antonio and seen this sign for hog hunting off I10 and called for info. Paul was more than helpful and informative. Said spur of moment hunts are ok as well. I was given directions and arrived. Upon check in he was even better in person. I was under the impression it was a hog hunting facility only. Boy was I mistaken. This place is a gem and all the staff were more than helpful. They have almost any exotic you would like to hunt and lodging with food etc if that’s what you are looking for. I booked the three hour hunt was provided the tools for the hunt and Steve my guide took me to my spot. Right at the end of my hunt I didn’t think I was going to be able to leave with something and was sadly mistaken. Three boar came round corner and didn’t really hear them. They turned away from me and was like shucks but they turned back and I was able to take all three. I hit two at once by accident. Called Steve and he sent someone to pick up the animals and provided me a ride back to my vehicle. They cleaned my animals quartered them as well and allowed me to go get ice chest from Walmart to take them home. I will definitely be back mid November for my sons birthday so he can get his first kill on big game. Needless to say this was a wonderful experience and I want to personally thank all the staff that make this happen. God bless y’all and see y’all November 20-22 for a weekend stay.
