Do not. I repeat DO NOT sign up for emergency alerts. If you forget your password you will be getting texts forever because there is no way to stop them. You text back "stop" and there seem to be even MORE alerts. You try to unsubscribe from emails and you have to login to unsubscribe. The system was designed to DRIVE YOU CRAZY. They send 500 texts and emails about flood alerts starting. flood alerts continuing. flood alerts extended. flood alerts ending..... It is too much. I had to get a special app for my phone to block their number because there was NO WAY TO STOP THEM. UPDATE: I called the VERY NICE woman at the Maui County Civil Defense and she changed my settings. We'll see if this works. But gotta say she was very helpful.
