Love this place! Obviously things have changed a bit due to Covid ... they no longer leave samples out for you to try on your own, samples can be had on an individual family basis at the sample bar. Some might say that’s an upgrade. They also don’t have quite as many flavors as they used to, which is sad, but hey, they are still in business and they are still a great place to visit! Worth the stop! And they’ll ship stuff home for you too (for a price, obviously).

Very nice staff, great mac tastings, and don't miss the icecream! Go on a work day and see them processing the nuts and brittle behind big glass windows. Educational 20 minute looped video, air conditioned and spaced out so very Covid safe. Actual macadamia nut plant. Great selection and samples. You can see the full mac nut process and sample almost all the products. Excellent shaved ice with real fruit puree instead of syrup, and the ice cream is good as well.
What a great place. We got to taste a variety of different flavors. My favorite was the wasabi.

Best macadamia nuts. We tried all their flavors. My favorite was the onion. But they were all good. Even the Spam flavored! Friendly people, interesting tour and they have a variety of products, from their many flavored nuts, to coffees, to sweet treats, to souvenirs. Glad we stopped in.
I haven’t had the chance to visit the facilities on the Big Island but I wanted to post about my great experience with ordering off their website. I discovered their brittle at Costco while on vacation in Maui a few weeks ago at the end of February. It is the most amazingly tasty snack over ever had. After coming back to the mainland, I ordered 5 bags off this site. Unfortunately, the postal service handled the package pretty roughly and the brittle was broken into tiny pieces, but nevertheless it was still delicious. I called Hamakua to just let them know about my experience so no one else gets broken brittle in the future. To my surprise, I found a package of replacement brittle at my doorstep days after the call, even though I never mentioned that I needed any sort of compensation. The people at Hamakua are just wonderful and I hope they continue to thrive for years to come! Mahalo!
Really interesting place. You can see the nuts being made and there is a gift shop like area next to it. Very family friendly place.
