The hike is doable, but it may be strenuous for some. It's not a difficult hike, but there are some areas that are steep. However, it is well worth the hike to see the falls. The trailhead guide says that it is about 1.5 miles, but I would say it's probably more like 1.7. when I measured it was 3.4 miles round trip.

Out of more than 50 South Carolina Waterfalls I visited, this one is traditionally my favorite. Over the last few years, more and more uprooted trees can be found by the falls - I wish the area would be cleaned up. The 3 Mile Round trip hike from the parking lot is relatively easy but it takes one through a small creek that may or may not be missing boulder steps.

Great hike with a beautiful waterfall, took the 3 yr old and the 4 yr old. It is a bit on strenuous side but these two are ruff and rugged hikers, haha and didn't complain one bit. Took every bit of 4 hours round trip with these two but it was so worth it!! Definitely will be back to try it again.

Trail in good shape and waterfall is beautiful! A big beech tree fell across the rocks below the falls-- limiting accessibility and seating. Hopefully Oconee or volunteers can clear.

Great hike, a bit technical for any beginner, but so worth the payoff of seeing those falls!
