This is a great place to launch for bird watching in the bay and marsh to the south. You can even cross over to Sauvie Island and get into the center where there wetland is. We have seen many Cranes, Herons, Osprey and Bald Eagles among many marsh birds. 4.5 A

Kayak a quiet estuary full of wildlife. The friendly staff will outfit you to your level of experience. A very pleasant way to recreate.

Everything went really smoothly with our kayak outing; staff was really friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person.

Employees know their stuff and they carry a lot of quality products. They are right on the bay so you can rent a kayak and try it out before you buy it!

Nice docks with good parking, but going out to the multnomah channel is difficult with it being so shallow

The Scappoose Bay Paddling Center is a nice place to launch a kayak or rent one for the day. They have a pier that is easy to place a kayak in the water and climb in. The only cons are that there is a 3 parking fee for the day and the water is very shallow at the beginning, so depending on your kayak, it is easy to get stuck. Overall, if you like your kayak adventures to be in calm open water, this is a great place to go explore.

Very empty during the weekdays. Great quiet place with great fish!
