This company is more interested in collecting your money rather than instructing you in becoming a pilot. Large groups with a 10 - 15 minute demonstration at the beginning on how to unpack the kite and assemble lines. We spent the majority of the second day standing around in our gear waiting for the one tow and flight we would experience. This was not worth the 500 price tag for each of us.How Maran considers herself an instructor is beyond me. I observed her simply ignore a student who had not grasped the concepts quickly enough to her satisfaction and make rude remarks toward and about the student to the other instructors. There is a reason other companies teach small groups and unfortunately Oregon does not make this a requirement like Washington state. Look elsewhere.

Discover paragliding is the best place in the country to learn to paraglide. Weather is more often then not permitting. The instructors are top notch and very understanding of all types of beginners from fearful and overzealous. They are pros in every meaning of the work and will help you achieve your best self in paragliding.

I started flying with Discover paragliding about 10 years ago. They truly are amazing. Their technique of teaching to launch on small un-intimidating sand dunes and then towing you up with their extremely safe towing equipment were the most perfect combination. Then when you go do your first high launch you are REALLY ready! they coach and teach so well. They are always calm and helpful. 'Since I received my certifications (Free-flight and motoring) I have also taken a 2 week trip with them to Costa Rica where we flew nearly every single day! See Picures below. Great Tour guides always focused on making sure everyone had a safe, fun time! You CANNOT go wrong with Brad and Maren and Discover Paragliding!

I was excited for the opportunity. Paid for a paragliding trip (charity auction) and called to schedule it in June. By late July, I had exchanged a few texts with these folks, but they never called back. By September, we had exchanged more texts, but I was starting to lose hope. They let me know that they stop flying at the end of September - in late September. tl;dr - Paid for a paragliding trip. They ghosted. Not recommended. Edit: They replied to this review within a day! It's up to other readers to decide whether it's funny or sad that this the quickest response I have *ever* received from Discover Paragliding...

Totally Awesome training for paraglider pilots with the latest equipment all provided. They use a really cool hydraulic Payout winch to tow pilots up to 3500'. They also can tow tandem paragliders, so you can get a ride with one of their super skilled, friendly pilots if you don't want to fly yourself. My daughter absolutely loves flying with Maren. What a wonderful teacher! Her husband Brad is a phenomenal winch operator, and a great instructor as well. A really good, well run, safe operation.

Hands down two of the best instructors around. Brad and Maren are extremely knowledgable and teach students the right way to become safe and skillful pilots. I jist finished my P2 with them and loved every minute I spent with them. Another large positive aspect of their training is building a friendly and positive environment for pilots to build relationships and fly together. Its not only business for them, they truly do care about you and do a great job ensuring you become a skillful and safe pilot.
