If you are a aspiring actor, go look somewhere else. I do not recommend Central Casting because the staff are very rude and unprofessional and they look at you as some kind of orm\ and would rather want someone who is the same status as Tom Cruise or any other \A-List\ actor. I'm not surprised that the reviews here are very poor because of their unprofessional and nasty attitudes and hindering potential talents and new faces. Please take some risks and give newcomers a chance or continue rotting and wasting your toxicity to the point of no return.

Friendly and professional staff. Always kind folk at the check in desk. Daniel and Debbie are concise with audition explanations... patient, experienced and courteous. This is a vetted casting agency where professional actors attend auditions for legitimate clients.

I went to an open call where I was invited to come back and audition at a later date. I came back and read for a table of five women that told me my take on an IRS agent was all wrong. I was too serious and aggressive in my character. They said I should have been compassionate. Well, what IRS agent have you seen be compassionate? They did not pick me and told me to return after some more acting classes. I never returned. This was years ago. Since then I landed an agent and several credits. Now I see these people mostly cast for background, so why would the audition process be so critical. Anyway, I feel they missed out, not me!

I really think that Central Casting needs to change the way they deal with the background actors. When they ask you if are available to play a particular role, they need to mention the call time to you. This is very important to know because many times the actor may be available to work, but not be able to make such early call times. The actor gets to know their call time the night before the day of the shoot. If it is one they cannot make, they then have to cancel. When they cancel they are given much attitude from the Central Casting staff. Well, if they would reach out to the actors and let them know what roles require very early call times they would then choose those actors. The actor would be less likely to cancel. They need to have a list of actors who can check in at 5am, 6am, 7am and 8am with NO problem and give them a higher rate. They also need to have a list of actors who can make it to the set at 8:30 am and later. This will help those who are casting the actors to have a more sure accurate picture of who will be working and who will not be working. It would also be better for Central Casting to have a standby list available for rush calls. They then need to give folks time to get to the set for the rush call. These folks making their movies want workers, but they need to work with and NOT against them. Why aren't they thinking of raising the pay of background actors? Why do they not provide healthy food for the workers, while on set? Why are they rude when workers call to cancel? They need to fix these things, so background actors will have pleasant working conditions. There needs to be a much better casting agency to be established in NYC. I bet then they would improve their ways. I'm turned off by the way they do things. I will be looking for a different type of work. Working under these conditions are NOT motivating to ME. Central Casting DO BETTER!

I was booked to work on a movie as an extra. I was booked extremely late the night before and had a call time of 5am the next morning. I woke up feeling sick around 2am so I emailed the casting director (Dagmar Wittmer) saying that I wouldn't be able to make it today due to me being sick. Long story short, she calls me and basically calls me a liar and how \people don't just get sick overnight\. She says how ridiculous this is and how I am unreliable. Dagmar Wittmer is the worst person I have ever had to encounter while working in this industry. You would think since they need extras so badly, they would treat them with respect at the very least. This woman is extremely unprofessional and handled the situation poorly. I was very respectful towards her but I got nothing but disrespect back. **UPDATE** I recently received an email from my agent saying : \You will never be requested through Central Casting again:(\. There you have it folks, this just shows the type of person she is. I will not apologize for being sick, as that is something people just cannot control. Because I got sick, I am now the most unreliable person in her eyes and she will never request me again. Well guess what? I would never want to work for such a horrible excuse of a human being again, no matter how big or small their name is in the industry.
