Certainly, it is better than the main detention facility for the DC jail. The DC jail, run by the DC Department of Corrections, is nothing but a window this oven, we're increasing the six sessions of new wardens less than the time that the men are allowed out, increasing the time that they have to swelter behind steel slab doors. At least, at CTF, there is air conditioning, there was Windows, and there is actual Recreation. At CTF even though there's still a number, the inmates are treated like people. At the DC jail, they are treated like cattle

When I send mail to an inmate, it takes almost a month until the individual receives it. The mailroom staff works very slow and half the time when you call, the staff is incompetent. Then the lady who distributes the commissary, doesn't even give the inmates their commissary on the mandatory day, she gives it to them on her own time. Very disrespectful when inmates are spending 100 a week on commissary, at least be on time. Also when you go to visit an inmate, half the time its barely any machines working and there is no food to give the inmates to eat. Very unprofessional since DC jail took over CTF.
It's a jail. I saw a cockroach in here once. Also, the private meeting rooms (if you are an attorney or working for one and need to meet an incarcerated client) have awful acoustics and echo everywhere.

This place does not even deserve to have a star by any means. They have the worse service. Just to call in to find out information you have to go through hell and they give you the run around. Then when you leave a message they dont ever return your calls either.
