OMG, Terry is adorable. Clearly, he eats, sleeps and breathes everything related to dancing. I have known him to dance with students late into the evening--perhaps having a power snack in between--but never skipping a beat! He is patient and accommodating. My dance partner and I won 3 silver medals after Terry choreographed four fantastic Latin dance routines in preparation for our dance competition in 2018. I am forever grateful to Terry for his training.

Terry choreographed our first dance for our wedding this past November and our guests loved it! It was one of the highlights of our reception. We never anticipated that our guests would be cheering for us! Neither one of us have taken lessons in the past, so we were anxious going into our first lesson. But Terry made us feel very comfortable and was very patient with us. He's very creative and provided a few options/moves for us to use based on what we preferred. We loved going home to practice - it was such a fun experience during the high-stress time of planning the rest of the wedding. I highly recommend!
Luca was our teacher for our wedding dance. He was great!!! Not only did he worked with us to have a great choreography, but he was also super patient with us and help us navigate the process at times when we would be stressed. He is really flexible and works with you to find a time that works for you. Couldn't recommend more!
I have attended DanceSport Dupont Circle for the past 2 years. The dance area is spacious and divided by mirror screens to allow concurrent classes. I have taken ballroom lessons with Terry Chasteen with a focus on International style. Terry is the most patient and competent instructor one can desire. His own experience as competitor and judge at national and international competitions makes him perfectly suited to train and prepare a couple for the world of competitions. I was thus able to compete at a few National and one international competitions. It was a fantastic experience and Terry was there until the end to support me and my partner in our endeavor. I have also observed Terry interacting with couples who want to prepare for wedding events, and he is excellent at putting together a choreography that suits the music chosen by the bride (either for the dance with the groom or with the bride's father), as well as their dancing skills. You will not regret your decision to start dancing at DanceSport Dupont Circle!
We took classes with Luca for our wedding and had the best experience! Our guests were impressed with our performance and we had so much fun. Highly recommend!
