I had some major concerns regarding the turnaround time regarding our file with MMP. An email was sent to Ms. Weller at MMP and she addressed my concerns and answered all of my questions. Sometimes the process isn't well known to regular people because we are not necessarily privy to that information. However, Ms. Weller calmed my fears down and let me know they are working hard for everyone. Ms. Weller, I hope this review finds you. I appreciate all the hard work your office is doing not just for me but for all those in Maryland that you serve.

I just got off the phone with one of the representatives of this organization, and I felt incredibly disrespected by her. I called to check to see if the rent-controlled housing provider I have signed a lease with did the proper paperwork to increase the rent on my apartment. I called and asked if I could get that information, and the lady said I could come in. She then proceeded (with attitude) to ask me why I'd want to check that saying \they have a right to do that (in reference to the vacancy increase)\ I understand they have that right, but I am trying to check up and ensure that my rights as a consumer are being protected as well. It felt like I was calling someone who works for my management company with the attitude she had toward my questions. Tenant rights are very important, and not all people who are tenants have access to information about their rights, or the time to call or come down to an office to make sure they are being treated fairly - don't make that even harder by being rude on the phone when someone calls with a legitimate question.

DHCD is one of the worse D.C. Government agencies I've dealt with regarding getting direct responses from the Director and the Rent Administrator. In order to get a response, I've had to email Mayor Bowser's Chief of Staff. Washington, D.C. residents, voters, and taxpayers deserve better service from public servants. If I could provide DHCD a grade on Grade DC, I would give them a grade of an F.

This agency is as crooked as it gets. They allow developers to come into areas like Ward 8 to build substandard housing (for rental or purchase) at market rate prices. People in this agency as well as other places are getting paid off to look the other way and hard working DC residents seeking to improve their quality of life are getting ripped off by unscrupulous developers who are being allowed to run rampant in the District.
