For all that the GWUH did for me- THANK YOU. There was never a moment during my open heart bypass and recovery that I didn't feel like I was receiving the very best professional and compassionate care. Truly an incredible experience. The staff was truly amazing! Thank you to Nurse Gail in Cardiac ICU and Elle on second floor recovery.

Successful V-Bac. Everyone was cheering me on! The nurses and midwives were attentive and kind, even when things didn’t go as planned. I felt informed and supported. The room erupted in joy when my son was born!

I’m really underwhelmed with the care I received from the hospital staff last night. I was brought into the ER via ambulance after suffering from a severe allergic reaction from an unknown source. Although my symptoms were mostly under control upon arrival, I don’t believe that sufficient testing was done in attempts to diagnose my illness. The nurse was wonderful and incredibly kind, but dismissed collecting a urinalysis because no cups were left in the bathroom. I wish one would have been done, because I let the nurse and doctor know I’ve been suffering from gastrointestinal issues for over a week now (loss of appetite, bloating, constant nausea). This concern wasn’t met with much attention and seemed to be viewed completely independent of my reaction. It could have been, however, a simple uranyl is may have provided some answers. I had severe rash on my chest from the allergy outbreak and shortness of breath, but wasn’t given a Benadryl until approximately over an hour into my initial admittance. They also forget to even give me a registration band which was noticed by the nurse after I was there for 10-15 minutes. I was checked on only a few times during my couple hour stay and just feel like I wasn’t provided with the proper testing/attempts at diagnosis. I understand that there are more severe medical emergencies in the facility, especially during the pandemic, but each and every patient should leave a hospital feeling like they received proper and adequate care- especially if they are transported via ambulance that results in a 2500 bill.

I was kept informed about the process of a loved one's care from start to finish without fail. I felt confident knowing they were in good hands and relieved with the timely and informative updates. The doctor and nurse were phenomenal with giving me pertinent information regarding my loved one's care. The George Washington Hospital has my trust and I am happy to recommend them.
