Dining at Kinkead's just keeps getting worse. We have dined at Kinkead's in the past, even though it was a couple of years ago. This latest visit on May 7, 2012 will most certainly be our last. The evening was supposed to be a special dinner with a good friend who was in town, an internationally known opera star. But one thing after another turned bad in the restaurant. The server hit the glass globe of a hanging light over our booth with the corner of a heavy menu, breaking the globe and showering the opera singer with glass fragments. One piece of glass hit him in the face. We insisted on a new table but even there, the ceiling air conditioning vent dripped water on us. Our friend ordered tuna medium done. Yet the tuna was served nearly raw. I ordered a soft-shell crab which was way beyond its prime, and the shell was crunchy and inedible. I was presented with the bill with no attempt by management to make things right, reflecting a once-good restaurant that's lost its luster, in my opinion. My advice to anyone considering Kinkead's is to look elsewhere.

Been here a few times now. Food's always fresh, well prepped. Some of the better fish I've had in DC. Upstairs is not what I was expecting...could use some updating. Things feel a little plasticy (is that a word) up there.
