Excellent food and even better service. This restaurant has a great ambience. A bit off the beaten path as far as location but well worth the trip. This is a great gem in the city. Will definitely be back.

Finally we got a decent Yakitori place, which satisfies tongues of Japanese people, in DC. You should make reservation to secure your seats. Variety of pieces are available and grilled on charcoal; it was the first time to find cartilage, our favorite, in town. They use Tamari soy sauce (gluten free!) locally made in Virginia by San-J, which adds to the depth of flavor. Handmade marshmallow was awesome. Highly recommended.

So happy to have found Momo Yakitori! Not far from home, high quality dishes, drinks, deserts and service! A solid 5 star DC dish. The toasted marshmallow on a stick!! Get 1 for each person. Sharing this is a deal breaker. It's just too good. They also have a craft cocktail bar in the basement. Will hit that up next time.

Beyond impressed. Not as far out as it seems, Momo was absolutely delicious. Skewers were so good. They have old faithfuls like chicken skin and meatballs, but also have adventurous stuff like chicken liver and heart. Cocktails were unique and delish while the toasted marshmallow dessert was absolutely to die for. Must order! I’ll be returning.

YES! This place is so so so amazing. The food is incredibly delicious and full of flavor. If I could, I would have ordered everything on the menu. Since I could not, it just means I'll have to return as many times as it takes to sample the whole menu. The staff was also friendly and super efficient. The food comes out fast. It's rare to have a gluten allergy and get to eat somewhere where you know all the food is safe. I cannot wait to return.

It was okay. For the price - I would not come back. We came for restaurant week with a reservation for 5pm. We were greatly and seated promptly. Since it was so early, there was only one other group in the restaurant aside from us. Our appetizers were delicious and very plentiful. The cucumber was refreshing and the shishito pepper were SPICY! Our problem was mostly with the entree. Our portions, despite being one of two parties in the restaurant arrived room temperature and pretty bland. The chicken meatball was the only one that was slightly warm and easily was my favorite of the meal. The desserts were also very tasty. I felt that he marshmallow could have came with some other type of garnish. The wait staff was wildly attentive and refilled our water at every turn. They were also friendly and funny. Tl;dr - appetizers and desserts were good. Entree was not warm and very bland. Would not pay 45 to come back.

Expensive and lacking in quality cooked foods. The charcoal filtered water is a nice touch, the green beans were great, and the beef tongue was pretty good. However everything else fell flat. Most skewers were overcooked, especially the dry yakitori. Until they figure out how long to grill items properly, do not come here. For now, go to Izakaya above Daikaya

Tucked away in NE DC lies a Japanese oasis- Momo Yakitori. We went here for drinks, dinner and dessert with friends tonight and were blown away by the atmosphere, food/drink quality and service. The cocktail menu is outstanding! The food menu is outstanding (and rivals/might be better than Yakitori I’ve eaten in Japan, mind you!). Favs: the corn and marinated Yakitori —yum! Also, don’t miss out on the marshmallow dessert! The staff is also excellent— true professionals who clearly love what they do! Hands down, a lovely dining experience. Would recommend to anyone!
