I've purchased several rebound note books from Caitlin for others as gifts, and also had a special request rebound for myself. I have always been satisfied with the results. The rebound books are unique and personal gifts. My girlfriend is a massive Tolkien fan and I was able to find a small pocket-sized rebound book using the classic 80's print edition hardcover. Caitlin had also rebound a copy of a children's book that my mother used to read to me when I was young so I purchased that as a nostalgia gift for my parents. Both rebounds were masterfully crafted, beautiful quality inside-and-out. A few months later, I found a deteriorating copy of a classic 1930s hardcover Grimm's Fairy Tales book for 50 cents in a used bookstore. Although the pages were falling out, I asked Caitlin if she could rebind it with plain paper for a note book. I was able to pick it up a few weeks later. As expected, the craftsmanship was spectacular. The prices are very reasonable for the precision and novelty of Caitlin's craft. I've seen competing services go for twice as much with similar results. The materials appear to be of a good, durable quality, with thick, sturdy sheets of paper in many of the notebooks. Including material costs, plus labor, and overhead these books are seriously a bargain. Overally, if you're in Eastern Market, swing by Rebound Designs.
