One of the most unique venues we have ever attended. A block from the Gallery metro station right at Chinatown (so lots of great food nearby). Normal security wand check and bag check. Staff all super friendly. Venue is pretty, and yep you are in a synagogue during on pews! Every seat is good but definitely some poles could block your view, and some of the balcony seats could be farther back than ideal, so wouldn't hurt to arrive a little early. Seating is up a flight of stairs from the bathroom (plus another flight to the balcony) so plan on some stairs. Venue is pretty and lighting is wonderful and intimate. Sound is good, although tended a little to the loud and echoy. They had a bar serving beverages in plastic cups with lids. No food (but plenty outside in the vicinity). Overall a great venue and would definitely go back.

This is a great venue Needs a little shoring up sometimes but overall it’s a gem. I had a little difficulty understanding Paul Krugman most recently and I’m not sure if that could’ve been fixed with better sound reinforcement. Sight lines are decent on both levels There choices of speakers tend to run the “NPR set” so I wish they’d branch out a little more and maybe try something a little more radical Overall I enjoy coming here Even the serious pat down and security checks(totally understandable) don’t thwart me from coming The place has a lot of historical value for me too. Back in the 80s it was an AME church and I saw the great Dick Gregory speak here So glad it still exists as a gathering place for folks with ideas

The building itself is historic and it's architecture is classic & beautiful! The concert I attended was pianist Matthew Whitaker: the performance was phenomenal!!! I would gladly visit Sixth & I for a tour! As a native Washingtonian, this is an architectural and historical gem!

MOST BEAUTIFULLY INCREDIBLE VENUE! My family and I were in DC/Arlington to lay my nana to rest. While there, it came to my attention that a good friend of mine who tour manages would be in town while I was. With a sold out show in place for St Lucia, my family and I made our way down. I’ve never been to a concert in such a sacred place but, man, was it amazing. The acoustics alone made the entire show sound like we were sitting right inside the instruments. The room was beautiful with Jewish culture, beautiful wood pews, and a ceiling painting that would inspire anyone. The show was one of the most perfectly sounding. The venue staff was uber pleasant. We even had one of the managers escort us to better seating when she saw we had VIP passes. I highly recommend Sixth&I for a show!
