I had an awesome breakfast at this place. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. My husband takes care of the Heating and Air Conditioning in the place so it is indeed a comfortable setting there. Delicious food. A must try. I promise you won’t waste your time nor dollars. Enjoy!

DC doesn’t have a lot of good German or Swiss restaurants, so I’m really glad this place exists. It’s a busy bustling space with a small-but-mighty menu. We got 1 app, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert: the cheese flowers (100% recommend, my favorite thing we ate), the Stable Rösti (heavy but good), the vol-au-vent (has zero flavor, wouldn’t recommend), and the chocolate praline mousse (amazing!).
So glad we reserved a chalet as soon as that days reservations became available, and will definitely be going back! It felt safe, reasonably priced, and definitely delicious for brunch! I don't normally get lunch at brunch, but I had to try the duck sandwich and it didn't disappoint.
Came here last night with a reservation for the “private” chalets. Just to warn other potential patrons who are seeking outdoor dining options during covid - the private chalet is neither private nor outdoors. We felt this was misleading and it seemed other patrons of the chalet felt the same as many were shocked when shown their table. While the chalets are certainly quaint and cozy, they’re essentially just walls on either side of the table but not in front of the table or closed off on the ceiling. Additionally the tables are inside the restaurant. Perhaps this situation would feel safer with a curtain or door on the front to more completely section off the table from the rest of the restaurant. Additionally we were disappointed in our service. The server had no knowledge of the drink or wine menu and was unable to advise. Fortunately the manager was able to assist but would say it’s the restaurant’s job to train its staff. We also had to ask multiple times to have our table cleared in order to make space for upcoming dishes. Wanted to love it, but left underwhelmed. The best part of the evening was the baked goods from their bakery.
We went to Pier 1354 at Stable and cannot recommend it enough! Delicious food (highly recommend the garlic butter shrimp) and cocktails, great vibes, and the service was great. They were prepared with hand sanitizer and bug spray - the two must haves for Summer 2020 in DC. We will definitely be back!
