I will never go to anyone in this office again, especially Dr. Caputy! Are you kidding me?!? First, his assistant came in there. She did a 30 second assessment, talk to me a couple minutes and asked if this was a workman’s comp issue. As if an black person can’t come to the doctor if there actually in pain—we’ve got to be suing or trying get workman’s comp. Really? And it was downhill from there. When Dr. Caputy FINALLY came in, he did a 2 second assessment and said there was nothing he could do but a referral to Physical Therapy, which by the way I already told them I have a Physical Therapist. He offered not one other option. Not one! So until I can find another neurosurgeon, I’ll remain in this pain. No one should have to live in this kind of pain. He didn’t bother to even address the hip and buttock pain that has me with a limp, using a cane at my age, and not even able to dress myself without assistance. This is so wrong!

Extremely thorough in his diagnosis and treatment. Highly knowledgeable. The surgical procedure was effective and better than the proposed procedures given to me by other surgeons.

Am a dental student who had a spine surgery with him, he injured my C6 nerve that supplies my left arm, now I can not control it, he rendered me a handicap patient, rather treating me, he added a nerve damage to my previous symptoms, he did not honer trusting him, and when I went back to him for the follow up appointment he said: We have witnesses that you signed the consent forms and there is nothing you can do, and he did not answer any of my questions. He promised that my surgery is very successful, but he hided any complications and I was rushed to sign the consent forms few seconds before going to his surgery. Before surgery he mentioned he will operate on the left side of my neck and he will leave any scar, but after surgery I found out he operated on the back of my neck and left an awful scar. He caused a permanent damage to my left arm with a permanent numbness in my thumb and index finger which is so essential for everyone especially being a dentist like my case. He also did not explain any risks or any possible complications behind any surgery he performs, I just went though a dishonest surgeon whom I trusted him, but he failed to show optimum patient care. He cares only about getting money out of my insurance, I had the best insurance that covers everything 100%, he also will make sure that he is legally covered by making you sign all the paper works few seconds before your surgery rushing you. A sincere advice from my personal experience, please don't seek his help if you care about yourself.

Ya know, I just had to put my 2 cents in here. I am shocked to see this previous negative review. It appears he has written 2 negative reviews. If you click his circle, 2 reviews come up. They are both about Dr. Caputi and they are both negative. In 2002 my son fell 40 feet rock climbing in WV. He compressed his spine but was still alive. In the Winchester VA medical center, the spine doctor recommended we transport him closer to our home after they were able to stabilize him a few days later. He would need a lot of surgeries and physical therapy. They gave us little hope our 21 year old son would walk again. I asked the dr. if it were his son, what doctor would he want to perform the surgery. He said Dr. Anthony Caputy. The reason for this is because Dr. Caputy teaches this procedure and has performed 1000's of them. He said he is the best in the country. We followed his advice and my son, Nick had 2 very long surgeries 3 days apart. The 1st lasted 12 hrs and the 2nd lasted 9.5 hours. Basically, the lower part of his spine needed to be rebuilt. After the surgery, in the hospital, Dr. Caputy would visit his patients at about 5:00 am each morning with a group of his students. We were there for about a month so we got to know other patients of his. At that time, people came to him from all over the country. Long story made short, Now in 2015 my son is living the quality of life as nothing has happened to him. It took him about 1- 1.5 years to feel completely back to where he was before the accident. I came upon this previous negative review about Dr. Caputy when I was looking for a spine doctor for an employee of ours. Doctors also have bills to pay and if we want to keep good doctors in our country, they need to be paid and very well if I might add.
