I am a Lakes alumni, but I initially sent my kids to public schools. We made the decision to bring our kids home to Lakes 4 years ago and never looked back. Best decision we ever made!! The teachers, staff, and administrators have been spectacular. Lakes is FAMILY.

I had 7 Kids attend Lakes, was a great experience with lots of leadership opportunities for them. Several state championships in Basketball and Soccer. One in FRC Robotics went to states and worlds. Well prepared for college, all received academic college scholarships. 3 receive college sports scholarships, one played in college in the NCAA tournament. Lakes prepared them well, not only in these external markers of success but spiritually as good Christians and as well-rounded individuals.
I attended Lakes 2 - 12. 1979. I then attended U of M and became a seventh grade teacher. There is a sense of belonging, at Our Lady of the Lakes. Academics and Acceptance Happy and productive Children. Amen
did not feel welcome there at all... sad to say but i felt like i was looked down for not having a lot of money and driving an older car. They even called the police on me when i was sitting in my car and two teenage girls walked over to my rusty car to ask me what i was doing, i rolled down my window and showed them i was just waisting time playing Pokemon waiting for a friend to come out. When the officer arrived i showed him what i was doing and i was waiting for my friend, he apologized to me and told me that i shouldn't sit there in an older rusty car that people there Would think I'm a creep... i have never felt so small... i even cryd a little when i got home...
