I felt compelled to write a review because of the substandard treatment my mother received before she passed away while at waterview. The communication was horrible. We were unable for days to speak to our mother or talk to a staff member about the status of our mother. We brought in our own ipad to face time and had difficulty in getting anyone to turn it on. I can't say enough how frustrating and sad it was not to be able to visit because of covid-19 and to add insult to injury not be able to see and talk with my mother before she died. We understand the stress everyone is under due to the pandemic but not being able to communicate and connect with our mother to make her feel less isolated was awful. They need to either retrain or get rid of some of their staff. I do not recommend waterview lodge.

The staff is slack in their care they give to the patients. Continual monitoring of my mother has been necessary ranging from missed medications to poor patient hygiene. One day she was dressed without underwear; another day she had two bras on. Food is substandard and we provide all meals. DO NOT PLACE YOUR LOVED ONE AT WL.
My Dad (Keith) has been at Waterview Lodge for approximately 2 years now. I have been extremely pleased with his care and all the staff, from the receptionist, owner, and all the nursing staff and aids. My Dad is being well taken care of and I also have experienced many times when I will visit and see how the nurses are taking care of the other staff. My Dad hasn't been the easiest patient and Waterview has worked closely with me and the Drs. to ensure he and others are safe as the elders go through this difficult process. I am just very appreciative to everyone for taking care of him and keeping me posted/informed. I highly recommend Waterview to others, and oh by the way, the facility is beautiful and I am always pleased with the cleanliness of my Dad's room.
Their website says they take Medicaid..but it is a lie..they do not. My mom was enrolled in the PACE program and when we came to the point she could not remain on her own the social worker looked for nursing homes that take Medicaid near me and found this one. After filling out the application and sending them all the required paperwork the social worker came to the conclusion that they actually do not want Medicaid patients at all and just want to appear to be socially responsible by advertising that they do. There was tons of back and forth communication between admissions and fbthe social worker and us which basically amounted to endless excuses why they couldn't admit her, she didn't fit their criteria, etc. I finally found someone who used to work there who confirmed all their patients are either private insurance or private pay. So if your loved one is on Masshealth don't bother despite what their website says.
I recently visited the Waterview Lodge Skilled Care Nursing Facility in Ashland, Massachusetts. I was impressed with the modern state of the art facility. I have seen many nursing facilities around the state, and this is by far the newest and most modern. More importantly, I noticed the compassionate level of care provided by the nursing staff. I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants to make sure their mother, father, or loved one is in good hands.
