The place is very beautiful and they have some very pretty horses. They take great care of them and the people there are sweet. The reason I'm giving them three stars is because they are not very organized. They don't have a system of tracking volunteers progress so therefore they don't know how much experience they have gained. I volunteered there for months once a week for two hours and I still had to follow someone around. They don't know when people are coming in or how many volunteers will be helping them so most of the time I just stood around. I wanted one on one time with horses to build my horsemanship and I never got that. I also thought it was hard to integrate into the community at the stable. They have people who volunteer everyday(which in my opinion should get paided.) which already play a major part in the facility functions. I felt like my presences was unneeded which made me not want to continue. Overall I learned a bit about horses which was good experience for the job I have now working at a stable, but I feel like they need to get more organized. You'd have a better experience working at a horse stable and getting money than volunteering here.

I volunteered a few times while visiting Wisconsin from California a couple of years back. As a huge animal lover and someone who has experience many traumatic events in my life this place changed me for the better after I got to experience animal therapy and everyone life striders has to offer. I felt so comfortable and loved while being here. Everyone was so extremely kind and warm and showed me around and let me love on the animals. I desperately needed that extra tlc everyone gave me while visiting. The volunteers and employees are absolutely amazing, each one that I met were so helpful and willing to do whatever they could do to help and so everyone could have a great experience. I dream about going back to visit and volunteering once again. Life striders is a great establishment and I will always support what they do for their community. Thank you!

There are not enough words to express Life Striders dedication, knowledge, enthusiasm and kindness . They are always so well prepared to help , find solutions, research and have answers for you as needed. Through all my search through the years, Life Striders will always be the answer by far.
