It's a shame, because I found out this location is closing for good at the end of the year... I came in here for the first time a few weeks ago and enjoyed every minute. They have instruments to try, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and a relaxed feel. I'm glad I had the chance to stop in. I hope to see more places like this open in the future.

Very friendly and helpful. Nice selection of instruments, sheet music and gift items. Reasonable prices.

I recently went to sse music and it was awful and was way overpriced. I went here and they had amazing staff. So nice and it was an an amazing experience. Even tho it is more for guitars they still helped with my flute. They are amazing.

Small, but surprisingly varied and quality range of instruments.

Bought my first guitar here in 1996 when it was Kepharts. Just visited and it's nice to see the same family friendliness met me at the door.

I appreciate the people who work here, it's always been a good experience. But as a more seasoned musician it's harder to work with them, they generally cater to the low-end and entry level folks. That's okay because that's probably the bulk of the market in a rural area like Decorah, but I have a hard time justify big purchases. I have to special-order anything high end, and their return policy on special orders isn't great. Sweetwater will give me 30 days money back on any online purchase, and these guys got really apprehensive about even giving me 3 days on an item. Great if you're just getting started, they'll hook you up with a solid entry level instrument, books, and even recommend some teachers. They're absolutely the right place for you. But eventually you'll "outgrow" the place.
