Called to discuss litigation pertaining to a dispute with a builder. I only wanted to see if I had a potential legal remedy and would ascertain their services at that time. They wanted 350 for a consultation. I explained that I did not want to spend 350 unless there was a path forward. The receptionist became very rude and condescending and at that point insisted they dont do free consultations and it was ridiculous for me to even assume a lawyer would work for free. I was not asking for a consultation but instead a brief correspondence to see if a consultation was necessary.. In fact, I have never spoken to any kind of attorney that did not discuss the matter before offering or declining his or her services. Called another law firm regarding the same matter and they had no problem letting me speak to a lawyer regarding my issue.
